The Wallace Collection logo

The Wallace Collection is both a national museum and the finest private collection of art ever assembled by one family. It was bequeathed to the nation by Lady Wallace, widow of Sir Richard Wallace, in 1897, and opened to the public just over three years later on 22 June 1900. Its first visitors were variously delighted, amazed and bemused. Among its treasures are one of the best collections of French 18th-century pictures, porcelain and furniture in the world, a remarkable array of 17th-century paintings and a superb armoury.

A FAMILY CHRISTMAS AT THE WALLACE

Come and savour the real spirit of Christmas by attending one of our many family events taking place in the run up to the festive season.

For the whole family, our Christmas Trail is a wonderful way to integrate art and the history of Christmas by guiding you around the paintings and sculptures which have a connection to the Christmas story. Focusing more on children, Charming Cherubic Wreaths encourages them to scamper about the galleries in search of all our Shepherds, Cherubs and Angels, in preparation for making their own decorative Christmas wreaths. Similarly, Celebrate Chanukah, The Festival of Light allows children to tour the galleries learning about our wonderful array of lights and candlesticks and will give them an opportunity to make their own special Chanukah candle holder to take home at the end of the day.
Before you leave after one of our many day activities, you should pay a visit to our shop, which is selling a vast array of bright and beautiful festive decorations, cards and gifts. Renowned for its individuality and taste, the shop will enable you to find the perfect gift for any relative, acquaintance or friend.
